Read Time:1 Minute, 6 Second

Hello! I’m a 3rd-year student who should probably be studying. Instead, I have decided to break
down HMA so you can get an idea of what you’ll be doing this term. According to MedFac, there
is no such thing as “high / low yield” content because everything is important. That’s not exactly
wrong, you really should try to watch all lectures, attend pracs and do pre / post prac activities.

But why don’t we fast forward to Week 6? You have less than 2 weeks until EOC and you’re still
on Scenario 1. Sound familiar? First, take a deep breath. You definitely can’t learn everything
but neither can MedFac test everything. The best thing you can do is grasp the most important
concepts to a respectable depth. HMA is mostly about the cardiovascular system so that’s what
this article will be about. Amongst other things, I’ve skipped over illicit drugs (scenario 3),
biochemistry (lipids) and antibiotics.

DISCLAIMER: These are my opinions only, I have no clue what you’ll be tested on. There will be
stuff I have skipped which is quite important, so please do try improving your study methods.
My hope is just to give you an overview of what to expect. I’ll break it down by discipline.
