How foolhardy was I to take the old, trodden road<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of my predecessors that I had shadowed before<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the well-read, the trendy mode<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, I had not travelled as far from my abode<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I stumble and stutter in front of all\u2026and what for?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

To follow the quintessential path, to rise above the rest<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe I\u2019d hit a stroke of luck? A courageous idea to mull<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I considered taking the other road, well, contemplated at best,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Insofar as perusing the famed and fabled that took that conquest<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I shook my head \u2013 no! I would rather dully die than die dull<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

As I stand there, trifled with fear of being seen as an arse<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Petrified, unduly robbed of my once prolific productivity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My juniors overtake me, the eyes bright and steadfast<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can\u2019t help but groan at my disappearing class<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mulling over what could have been, at the cost of creativity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

I tell this tale, forewarning the immature<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t be afraid to be mistaken, to awaken<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To witness the bent undergrowth, unshaken<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To experience their own minds within the wildness of human nature<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alas, to take\u2026 the road not taken<\/p>\n
